Start a design in the Yarn-Dye Studio
A free Dusrawork account includes monthly usage credits — design, simulate and export without a subscription. Because the preview computes the true multi-row colour interaction (not a simple overlay), what you see on screen is what the loom will produce — including how warp and weft runs interact in overlaps and borders.
What the studio does
- Independent warp and weft colour sequences with per-run repeats (e.g. '2A, 1B')
- Instant swatch preview in 2D flat and 3D woven texture
- Classic starting points: gingham, madras-style plaids, shirting stripes
- Fabric density controls to set the final hand of the cloth
- Colour palette management across sequences
- Swatch exports for mood boards and buyer presentations
The workflow, end to end
- Define the warp colour sequence, then the weft sequence.
- Set repeats and density; the swatch re-renders as you type.
- Save or export the swatch for sampling and buyer presentations.
Frequently asked questions
Can I design gingham and check patterns?
Yes — symmetric sequences like equal warp and weft runs produce classic ginghams, and asymmetric runs shift into plaid territory.
Does it account for yarn thickness?
Yarn physical parameters and EPI/PPI density are both configurable, so fine shirting and heavy flannel behave differently in the preview.
Can I share swatches with buyers?
Yes — swatches can be exported as image files for presentations, or saved to your asset library for reuse.
